The short answerChatSEO is the best AI SEO agent we have tested this year. We tested it on welcometotheaijungle.com on 10 October 2026. In 40 seconds it gave us a five-step plan built on our own data. We checked every figure against Search Console, and every one was right. Three of those fixes were live on our site the same afternoon.

What does ChatSEO do?
ChatSEO is a conversational SEO agent. You ask a question in plain language and it pulls the data it needs before answering.
- Reads your Search Console and turns clicks, impressions and positions into an action plan.
- Researches keywords and competitors with real search volumes and the pages that rank today.
- Audits pages and sites, from titles and structure to indexing, internal links and structured data.
- Writes articles and page rewrites, with the meta title, description and slug filled in and measured in pixels.
- Publishes to your CMS (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow) when you ask it to.
- Works inside Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor through its MCP server, so you can ask SEO questions from the assistant you already use.
The team keeps adding to it. Over the past months ChatSEO has added Google Analytics on the Pro plan, local SEO, Shopify and Webflow publishing, and an MCP server that now exposes 38 tools. Expect the product you sign up for to keep growing.
Why it beats the other AI SEO tools for a firm with no SEO person
Most AI SEO tools do one of three jobs. Data suites give you numbers to interpret, content tools optimise a page you already chose to write, and GEO trackers measure whether ChatGPT mentions you. ChatSEO does the part a consultant charges for, the analysis and the order of work, then carries on into the writing.
| Tool type | Examples | What you get | What you still have to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI SEO agent | **ChatSEO** | A prioritised plan from your own data, the drafts, the publishing | Approve and read before it goes live |
| SEO data suite | Semrush, Ahrefs | Large keyword and backlink databases | Interpret the data and decide what to do |
| Content optimiser | Surfer, Frase | A page scored against the pages that rank | Pick the topic and the priority |
| GEO tracker | Otterly, Peec AI | How often AI answers mention your brand | Everything that would change it |
| General assistant | ChatGPT on its own | Ideas and first drafts | Feed it your data, which it cannot see |
ChatSEO draws the line in the same place. When we asked where it fits, it told us it is not a GEO tracker. It works on what gets a page into the answers and leaves the measuring to tracking tools.

How we tested it
We gave ChatSEO the jobs a firm would give a new SEO consultant, on our own site, and checked each answer against our raw Search Console export for the same dates. We ran it in French first, then again in English for the screenshots on this page. The whole test took twelve messages, so twelve of the 200 credits included in Pro.
- A 28-day Search Console report.
- Search volumes for six French keywords.
- A 2,500-word comparison article, with prices and sources.
- A buying question: which GEO tool for a small French business?
- The five SEO actions to do this month on our site.
Every conversation is public, so you can read it end to end: Search Console report, keyword volumes (French keywords), the article, ChatSEO versus GEO trackers, the buying question (in French) and the plan for our site.
What we got
The numbers were right. Nineteen seconds after the first question, it returned our clicks, impressions and average position for 10 September to 7 October. It gave 17, 5,624 and 28.85, the same as our own export to the decimal.

The plan was worth acting on. Asked for this month's five priorities, it checked our pages, our sitemap and 90 days of data before answering. It found a guide competing with our main service page for the same searches, a service page whose title matched none of its queries, a listicle earning 5,196 impressions for two clicks, and a homepage title missing its main keyword. It even noticed that we had not applied its recommendations from September. We checked each figure in Search Console and on the live site, then shipped three changes from the plan that afternoon. The other two clashed with choices we had already made for that site, which ChatSEO had no way to know.
The writing was fast and well built. For the comparison article, it first checked whether our site already covered the topic, read the pages ranking for the query and collected each vendor's pricing page. A few minutes later we had a draft of 2,500 to 3,000 words covering nine or ten tools, with prices taken from the vendors' own pages and a meta title and description measured to fit.

It stays honest about itself. Asked which GEO tool to buy, it did not recommend itself. It said it reads vendors' pricing pages rather than testing their tools, and pointed a small business to a $20 to $29 tracker.
Limits
- Read the drafts before publishing. Ours needed a fact-check. A summary line contradicted its own price table, and the byline held a placeholder author. It fixed each point within seconds once we flagged it.
- It is not a GEO tracker. To follow your mentions in ChatGPT or Perplexity over time, add a tracker.
- Credits go fast if you chat. One message costs one credit, follow-ups included, so batch your questions.
- MCP and Google Analytics need Pro. Starter covers Search Console, research, writing and publishing on one site.
How much does ChatSEO cost?

Who is ChatSEO for?
Choose ChatSEO if you run a firm without an SEO person, you have Search Console set up, and someone can spend an hour a week reading its plans and approving pages. It also suits consultants and small agencies who want analysis and drafting in one place, from inside Claude or ChatGPT.
Look elsewhere if you only want to track your brand in AI answers (pick a GEO tracker), or if you want a team to do the whole job for you (pick an agency).
Alternatives
- A configured pipeline. Search data from an API such as DataForSEO, Search Console through Google's API, and a coding agent that turns both into briefs. This is what we run across our eleven sites. It gives more control, but someone has to maintain it.
- An operated service. An agency does the work and reports to you. Our sister agency, Jungle Roots, does this for boutique firms. If you first want to know which SEO and marketing jobs an agent should take in your firm, our Leverage Assessment maps them.
- A GEO tracker on top. Otterly or Peec AI, if you want to watch your mentions in AI answers while ChatSEO does the work that earns them.
FAQ
Which AI agent is best for SEO?
For a firm without an SEO specialist, ChatSEO. It reads your own data, ranks what to do first and writes the pages. In our test its Search Console figures were exact and its five-step plan for our site checked out line by line.
Is ChatSEO worth it?
Yes, if you act on what it finds. One afternoon of its plan fixed three issues on our site that had been waiting for weeks. At €29 to €49 a month, it costs less than one hour of most SEO consultants.
Can ChatSEO publish to WordPress?
Yes. It connects to WordPress, Shopify and Webflow and publishes when you ask. We recommend approving each page before it goes live.
Does ChatSEO work with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, on Pro and above. Its MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code call ChatSEO's tools from a normal conversation. That is how we ran this test.
Can ChatGPT do SEO on its own?
It helps with ideas and drafts, but it cannot see your Search Console, so anything it says about your traffic is a guess. An SEO agent's edge is that it reads your real data.
Is SEO still worth it for a consulting firm in 2026?
Yes. AI answers lean on pages that search engines already find and trust, so a firm invisible in Google is rarely the one ChatGPT recommends. Jungle Roots explains how answer engines pick which firms to cite.
