Best if your firm runs on Microsoft 365
- What you get: Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, plus pre-built agents (Researcher, Analyst, Facilitator), and you can create your own agents in Copilot Studio (Microsoft).
- Why it ranks here: nothing to connect if your mail, files and meetings already live in Microsoft 365. It is for organisations of up to 300 users.
- Price: $18 per user a month billed yearly until 31 December 2026 (then $21), or $25.20 billed monthly. It is an add-on: you need a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan first.
- Watch out: per-user pricing grows with every hire, and it reaches little outside Microsoft's apps.
4. n8n
Best for a team with a technical person
- What you get: workflows that mix explicit logic, AI agents, code and human approval steps, with execution logs and evaluations (n8n). Without a licence key, a self-hosted install runs as the free Community edition.
- Why it ranks here: the most control for the money, and your data can stay on your own server.
- Price: free self-hosted. Cloud costs €20 a month, billed yearly, for 2,500 executions, and the Pro plan costs €50 a month (pricing).
- Watch out: someone has to build it, watch failed runs and update it when a connected tool changes.
5. Intercom Fin
Best for answering customer questions
- What you get: an AI agent that answers customer conversations from your help content, inside Intercom or on top of an existing helpdesk such as Salesforce (Intercom).
- Why it ranks here: customer support is the most common first agent job, and Fin charges per outcome rather than per seat.
- Price: $0.99 per outcome, meaning a resolved conversation or a completed workflow. On another helpdesk there are no seat fees, but a minimum monthly commitment applies (for example 50 outcomes). Intercom seats start at $29 per seat a month, billed yearly.
- Watch out: it talks to your customers directly. Test it on your own real questions before you switch it on.

Best for drafting and research
- What you get: a shared Claude workspace for the team. Cowork can run tasks across devices, and in cloud sessions scheduled tasks run even when the laptop is closed (Anthropic).
- Why it ranks here: excellent for writing, research and analysis that a person checks before use.
- Price: $20 per standard seat a month billed yearly, or $25 billed monthly (pricing).
- Watch out: it is a tool you operate. Scheduled tasks do not make it a managed service.
